BAAQMD Presentation to City Council

BAAQMD_presentationWe need your support to ensure that both the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and the City Council understand that the citizens of Pittsburg need to have our air monitoring station restored and that we have the right to breathe clean air.

Pittsburg Air Quality

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District will present an air quality presentation to the City Council this Monday November 2nd at 7pm.

Background

Pittsburg Defense Council and a group of Pittsburg High School Students, the Freedom Breathers, along with the help from Pamela Arauz and Global Community Monitoring, have conducted independent air monitoring tests over the last 2 years. The results from these tests, along with the reports and recommendations were presented to the city council. We have all actively lobbied our city officials to request the air monitoring station, which was removed in 2008, be reinstalled and reactivated in the city of Pittsburg.
